Does anyone remember Middle-earth: Shadow of War? Mmm. That game came and went quicker than Trump’s toupee in a stiff breeze, but Monolith has endured and is planning on releasing the final story expansion on May 18th.
Shadow of War - Desolation of Mordor will put players into the shoes of Baranor, the captain of Minas Ithil, who has escaped the fall of the city and been reunited with his lost brother Serka. Together, the two of them must get together a ragtag group of mercenaries to help combat a new Orc threat coming from the east.
It means there’s the all-new environment of Lithlad to explore, which is an unforgiving desert region overseen by the Marauder fortress of Shindrâm. As Baranor is a regular, boring old human it means players won’t be able to use Talion’s range of magical powers and abilities, which should lend a more grounded twist to the Shadow of Mordor formula.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Desolation of Mordor is coming to PC and console on May 18th. It’s available on its own for $19.99 / £15.99 / €19.99, or available as part of the pricy full expansion pass for $39.99 / £32.99 / €39.99.
