The Onrush open beta is currently live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, giving console gamers a sneak peek at what to expect from Codemasters’ upcoming arcade racer.

By all accounts, it’s all rather fantastic, and the unique system whereby you don’t need to be first to win an event means there’s constant chaos as the racers are thrown together. Players can pick between several different types of vehicles, each with unique abilities, and take part in 6v6 team-based events in which the team that performs the most dangerous stunts and enemy takedowns emerges victorious.

To go alongside the beta, Codemasters has revealed a new trailer for Onrush, providing a taste of what to expect when it eventually arrives on PC later this year.

The Onrush open beta continues until May 21st at 2am PT/10am BST. The full game launches on June 6th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
