Match Day 11 Results
Yesterday it was a familiar tale for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt RED's sci-fi RPG walked out the 4-0 winner for the second week running. That's eight goals now without reply, and surely an early content for the GD World Cup 2018.
Elsewhere, the passion for sequels saw Doom Eternal do a smash-and-grab on Starfield. Bethesda's space-faring adventure will surely be one of the most anticipated games in the world when it eventually arrives, but it appears that logo tease just wasn't enough to get most gamers salivating. Lastly, Total War: Three Kingdoms continue its miserable campaign with a defeat to Death Stranding. Barring a miracle, Total War has basically been eliminated from the tournament.
Starfield [ 1 - 3 ] Doom Eternal
Rage 2 [ 0 - 4 ] Cyberpunk 2077
Death Stranding [ 3 - 1 ] Total War: Three Kingdoms
Match Day 12:
It's matchday 12, which means it's the final games of the group stages. Four games will be knocked out of the competition every day between now and Thursday, with the surviving games heading into the Round of 16 knockout stages. It's all to play for today as, if I'm doing my maths correctly, any of the today's eight games could still qualify.
In Group A it's a fight for survival as Battlefield V goes head-to-head with Assassin's Creed Odyssey, while bottom-of-the-group Resident Evil 2 has a chance at, erm, redemption, if it can sneak a few goals past Red Dead.
Meanwhile, in Group B, The Elder Scrolls VI is expected to continue its dominant form as it takes on Kingdom Hearts 3. The big show-down here though is Forza Horizon 4 vs The Last of Us 2 in a winner-takes-all contest. A draw would be enough for Forza to squeak through on goal difference.
It's game on - get your votes in below. For every 50 votes a game gets, it scores a goal.
The winner will take home all three points, and we'll be back tomorrow with four new fixtures. Let's do it.
This is a blind vote, results will be revealed tomorrow along with the next group of anticipated game polls!
