Up For Debate - Which is Your Favourite GeForce Graphics Card Manufacturer?

Written by Jon Sutton on Sun, Jul 15, 2018 1:17 PM

We’ve had AMD, so it’s only fair we turn our attention to the greener side of life, to Nvidia, naturally. The vast majority of discrete graphics cards around the world carry that iconic logo, but what about the brands that are powering these pixel-pumping brutes?

Pop onto your local digital store and you’ll be met with an array of graphics card brands such as MSI, Zotac, Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte and more. Each of these hardware manufacturers takes the chips from Nvidia and add their own unique twists.

AIB partners can add custom cooling solutions, improve airflow and ergonomics, shrink them down for small builts, or even overclock them right out of the box for improved performance.

When buying your GeForce graphics card do you make sure you seek out the very best version there is? Or are you brand loyal? As soon as there’s a new graphics card do you look straight for your favourite manufacturer? get voting and let us know why below!

Just avoid Gigabyte AORUS motherboards, they have poor VRMs and they are not truly 8 + 3 phases, they are 4 and some components + 3 phases same with their AORUS GPUs... they are doing that to cut cost and increase profitability due to losing market...

I just saw that video too...

I wouldn't go for ANY Gigabyte component at all. Shame, since their orange theme is amazing ;/

I lost interest in Gigabyte years ago, first when I returned my old 6600GT about 6 or 7 times being faulty pieces, then some C2D mobo blown by thunder,
for gpus, I stick with EVGA and for mobos ASUS is my clear choice

ASUS is no longer the ASUS of the 2000s, now they produce quite crappy products unless they are regulated by AMD, Intel or Nvidia, like intel's extreme mobos have to meet some standards set by intel, but the ASUS Strix Z370 and X470 are sold at 200$+ and have worse components and especially VRMs than most(if not all) 120$ boards... -_-

They are just banking on marketing, people spreading the brand and are trying to have as high as possible profit margins...

What's a good brand? From my experience, asrock is the best bang for the buck. The uefi of their mobos is about as bugless as it can be, prices low af. Just less aesthetically pleasing, but nobody sees it if the case is windowless.

never buy brands, buy products, AsRock too has poor motherboards, but they sell them at a price that is according to the quality.
Be more specific about the platform and budget and I will give you one of the best, if not, the best for that platform and budget.

I always thought the latter part was pronounced like Zeus, the Greek god. With the A as pronounced in "that".
AZOOS.

Thx :) But to be honest it's difficult to explain. In the word "asus" between Poland and UK/USA the main difference is in the "A" letter. Let's say... when you go to a Dentist and he asks you to open your mouth, what do you say? "Aaaaaaa"
Make it shorter and you'll get "A" in polish :D That's why we pronounce "ASUS"

Wow, a lot of asus lovers. No hate, I've only had my hands on two asus cards, a GTX 560 TI and 650 TI. The 560 TI with direct cu ii cooler ran very hot and I even undervolted it to get more acceptable temperatures, the 650 TI with an aluminium block overclocked well, it would be better if it had a better cooler. I really like EVGA, my current GTX 960, not a good overclocker, but with the custom bios I made, it is overclocked to boost frequencies, 60% fan speed less than 80C

I had the GTX 560Ti DCU II aswell, but my card ran flawless. With my Zalman Z11 plus case Temperatures were never above 75*C (OC'd at 980MHz), and didn't even once change the termal paste. Maybe you were just unlucky :)

Could be. I bought it used for my eGPU setup, but my laptop can only work with AMD gpus. The card couldn't be overclocked with anything, only a slight undervoltage on the factory oc settings.

I love the Palit JetStream series and have been using them since my trusty GTX 670. They are [relatively] cheap, well made and in my experience always perform very well.

Despite what my rig says, I am using a 1080ti one atm but it's not in the GDDB and I haven't had time to add it, so I picked an after-market one with the same core/clock speeds as a placeholder.

Again I buy products and NOT brands, research the PCB and its components, then the cooling and then choose.

And I'm surprised how many people chose ASUS when they usually have one of the worst PCBs and components and VRM cooling, unless you buy their super expensive, limited quantity GPUs like the hybrid cooler ones.

Got an inno3d ichillx3 1080 but honestly, if the cooler is good enough you can get every recent card to about the same performance level anyways. Custom PCB's didn't do much for pascal cards.
