Opinions. We’ve all got several thousand of them, and most of them stink. But which stink the most? For you seasoned veterans of the internet, you’re probably all too aware that gaming opinions can be controversial. Heck, you’re on a site called Game Debate, it’s all about discussing our opinions on games and hardware. It’s great, we all love it, but occasionally we throw out an opinion that is greeted with almost universal disdain.

Just look through your post history and you’ll probably find one or two with about 30 dislikes. You said something that went massively against the status quo, but that doesn’t make it any less valid. The majority isn’t always right. Not there ever is a right when it comes to opinions, although we can certainly feel that way sometimes.

So, unpopular opinions about games. Some of you may be unsurprised to know I have a bucketload of these. Not that I’m just a contrarian. Or at least, I don’t think so. Anyway, I’ll list a few facts opinions, rather than the single most unpopular, just to get things going.

  • I love battle royale. I want more battle royale games announced, preferably big budget ones. EA and Activision - Cancel Battlefield V, cancel Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, just put all your money and time into a single great battle royale mode for each franchise.
  • Assassin’s Creed 2 is a pretty bad game. I think I might actually prefer Assassin’s Creed 3.
  • Bethesda hasn’t developed a game that’s any better than ‘Good’ since Morrowind.
  • BioShock 2 is the best BioShock.  
  • Mouse and Keyboard is just too accurate for first-person shooters. It removes the drama and panic of what it would be like to be in a real shoot-out. It's undeniably superior at getting the job done, but I'm not convinced that's a good thing.
  • Games are better now than they have ever been.
  • They're not your games, they're the creators' games. Let them make what they want, not what you want, then judge the final product. Case in point - Battlefield V.
