Last month there was so little out that it wasn't even worth making an indies list. In August, it's indies galore. And yes, I know I'm stretching the definition of indie with We Happy Few, from the now-Microsoft-owned Compulsion Games, but it began life as a Kickstarter project so it's a close-run thing.

In terms of what to expect this month, we've got some huge titles. Self-style 'Roguevania' Dead Cells finally leaves Early Access this week. It's one of the most highly rated titles on the entirety of Steam and the final release should be a big hit.

Elsewhere we've got more co-op rage-inducing cheffing with Overcooked! 2, the sublime looking Two Point Hospital (a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, no less), the final ever season of The Walking Dead (maybe), and of course Post Scriptum. This latter game, in particular, has been generating huge hype and it's going to be fascinating to see whether this WW2 shooter can deliver.

Does We Happy Few still count as an indie still since Compulsion got bought by Micosoft and the game is being published by Sh*tbox, ahem, I mean Gearbox? I wonder if they left Jim Sterling's voice acting in the game.

Death’s Gambit looks sick! Combination of Salt & Sanctuary with the fast pace and graphics of Risk of Rain

Yeah it was supposed to release in August (the official release date) but something happened and the game released a few days early accidently.
