The original Valkyria Chronicles is an absolutely excellent turn-based tactics game with real-time elements. Sadly, VC 2 and VC 3 have never made it to PC, but we're back in the mix with Valkyria Chronicles 4. It's a standalone storyline so you needn't fear missing out. More importantly though, here are the PC specs required to run Valkyria Chronicles 4.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz or AMD FX-6200 3.8 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
- GPU: GeForce GTX 650 Ti or Radeon HD 6850 2GB
- DX: DirectX 11
- HDD: 71GB Available Hard Drive Space
Unsurprisingly, the system specs for Valkyria Chronicles 4 are pretty lightweight. VC4 isn't a graphically demanding game thanks to its fairly simplistic yet great looking watercolour art style. A dual-core processor will do the job provided it has multithreading, but the CPU is certainly the most demanding element of this particular game.
The minimum suggests GPUs for Valkyria Chronicles 4 are the GeForce GTX 650 Ti or the Radeon HD 6850, both of which will require their beefier 2GB variants. Again, any modern system should have little trouble here, this is just about as low-end as you're going to get these days.
One last word on the installation size of Valkyria Chronicles 4 though. 71GB is frankly insane, and this has to come down to the implementation of high-resolution 4K textures. This compares to a 30GB install on PS4, so clearly Sega is making use of the additional capabilities of gaming PCs.
As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run Valkyria Chronicles 4 System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Even if it was 710 Gb, and not 71 was not an issue, for this game i can download 71 Tb if needed
the 4k texture thing is just a guess, you can't rule out that its simply bad optimization, which imho seems like the more likely reason for this absurd storage space demand, this is a BAD move from SEGA, don't they get that 71GB is too much? and some people don't have unlimited internet? their asking for the game to fail, unless the game has HUGE content this is NOT acceptable!
my poor internet @_@ 71GB at launch is soul crushing.
If SEGA provides an standalone download link for 4k textures like how SE provides in FFXV then maybe the install size can be reduced even down to like 40-50gb.
