In terms of open-world racing, no game does it quite like the Forza Horizon series these days. Playground Games is working on a different level, offering up a huge British sandbox for Forza Horizon 4, offering up to 72 players within a single instance of the world. Just as with 2016's FH3, we'll be driving on the correct side of the road. Whoop. But enough about the game, what PC specs will you need to run Forza Horizon 4? Here are the official Forza Horizon 4 system requirements.

• HDD: TBA (Around 60GB Expected)

If you've played 2016's Forza Horizon 3, these specs are going to be pretty familiar to you. PlayGround Games is treading old ground here, meaning a set of Forza Horizon 4 system specs that are actually pretty lightweight.

Down at the low-end, a budget-priced four-year-old GPU such as the GeForce GT 740 or Radeon R7 250X is good to go at low resolutions such as 720p. A lot of visual sacrifices will have to be made but Playground has said these system requirements are targeted at hitting 60 frames per section. It'll need to be paired with a fairly solid dual-core processor and a now-standard 8GB RAM. Ah, and as a Windows Store exclusive you'll be needing a Windows 10 installation.

As for the recommended specs, no that's not a typo. The recommended video memory is 4GB while the recommended GPU is a GeForce GTX 3GB or a Radeon RX 470 4GB. We'll go out a limb and suggest 3GB VRAM is the actual recommended video memory.

Nevertheless, a GTX 1060 3GB or Radeon RX 470 are very reasonable requirements to achieve 60fps at 1080p. Performance in Forza Horizon 4 should be similar to Forza Horizon 3, albeit with a few performance optimisations and tweaks learned in the intervening years. Do keep an eye on the RAM requirements though, as the recommended specs jump to 12GB. If you can get away with 8GB on minimum requirements though, Forza Horizon 4 should, in theory, not actually need 12GB provided you close as many other running processes as possible.
