Treyarch has revealed the full map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s ‘Blackout’ battle royale mode. Just as with other major battle royale launches, COD BLOPS 4 Blackout will ship with a single giant map, this time set on a coastal region rather than an island.
We’ve been hearing for some time how Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale would stitch together various classic Call of Duty maps, and now we can this in action. Popular locations from Call of Duty history are representing, including the likes of Nuketown, Array, Turbine, and Estate.
Each of these maps appears to have been expanded slightly and they’re all connected by a series of roads, woodlands, and rivers. It’s quite clearly dozens and dozens of times bigger than any Call of Duty map before it, although getting around should be much easier with the addition of vehicles.
Call of Duty: Blackout Battle Royale Location List
- Cargo Docks
- Fracking Tower
- Nuketown Island
- Firing Range
- Hydro Dam
- Train Station
- Construction Site
In its current incarnation, Blackout is playable with 80 players. Studio head Dan Bunting has said they’ve gone higher than this in testing, but for now, the player count will be 80. This could change both before and after launch though as development is still in flux. It’s still a possibility that Treyarch could hit that all-important 100-figure, particularly on PC.
If you’re itching to give it a shot, the Blackout mode will be playable in a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta test that goes live on September 10th for PC. The PC and Xbox One beta tests kick off a week later and you’ll need to pre-order a copy of the game to earn access.
