Valve has approved the first pornographic game for release on Steam, hopefully bringing to an end the tumultuous saga of adult-only games and sexual censorship on the platform. Suffice to say, NSFW WARNING.
Dharker Studios’ Negligee: Love Stories is the first such game to be given the go-ahead. Originally backed to the tune of £14,448 on Kickstarter, Negligee features full nudity, graphic depictions of sex, and sexual dialogue, all uncensored. The censored pick below is from the Kickstarter campaign and gives us some idea of what we're dealing with here. Your imagination is somewhat required as they've had to do some heavy-handed censoring to bypass Kickstarter rules and regs.
Negligee: Love Stories is the first game to be added with Steam’s new ‘Adult Only Sexual Content’ filter. By default, Adult Only Sexual Content is disabled from appearing in the Steam store and you must enable this content in your preferences.
To view the Negligee Steam store page you also must be logged into Steam, and the page itself throws up a warning suggesting it may contain content that isn’t appropriate for all ages. It’s a similar warning to those seen in ultra-violent titles, although it also includes a lengthy description of the sexual content that’s included, as per Valve’s new Adult Only Sexual Content guidelines.
Head through to the game page and there’s also a new section where the Mature Content Description is housed. This is designed to warn customers of what the game may include prior to purchase. Negligee: Love Stories sounds like quite a wild ride, and includes the following:
“Negligee: Love Stories features four story-lines that frequently include dialogue of sexual themes, sexual interactions and nudity and through them illustrations featuring nudity, undressing and sexual interactions as well.
“The four stories include male and female sexual relations, female and female sexual relations, themes relating to pressured sexual relationships, themes relating to nymphomania, themes relating to adult sex workers, themes relating to abusive marriages and adultery.
“Scenes within the game include illustrated and dialogue descriptions of male and female single partner sexual relationships, modelling, outdoor sexual activity, male and female multiple partner sexual activity and female and female single partner sexual relationships.”
That’s a whole lot of sex then, and it looks as if these guidelines are going to be the Steam standard going forward. It’s still all a bit creepy when they make the girls look about 15, but I guess Dharker Studio will suggest they’re of legal age in-game. They certainly look like girls more than women so, er, happy perving I guess.
