Possibly the great roll-em-up of all time is coming to PC at long last. Yesterday evening, Bandai Namco announced Katamari Damacy Reroll, a remaster of the original Katamari game, this time for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Announced during the Nintendo Direct, Katamari Damacy Reroll looks to be a very loyal remaster of the game that started it all. In Katamari Damacy, you are The Dashing Prince, son of the King of All Cosmos. The King has gone and knocked all of the stars out of the sky after a heavy night on the tiles, sending The Prince out to go and tidy his mess up.
The basic premise of Katamari Damacy Reroll revolves around heading to Earth in order to roll up as many things as possible in order to recreate the missing stars. The size of the objects that can be rolled up depends on the current size of the trash ball. Players start small with paper clips and pencils, but entire buildings and continents can eventually be rolled up into a giant trashy ball.
“Katamari Damacy is a game of pure joy. From the whimsical story, colorful graphics, cute characters, and delightful J-pop soundtrack, the game simply exudes light-hearted fun,” said Abelina Villegas, associate brand manager for Bandai Namco. “We aim to delight returning fans of the franchise as well as those who may not have had a chance to be on the ball the first time around with Katamari Damacy Reroll.”
Katamari Damacy Reroll will be rolling its way onto PC and Switch from December 7th, 2018.
