Lara’s latest has been out roughly a month now and that can mean only one thing - it’s season pass content time. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be getting seven DLC expansions of varying sizes as part of its season pass, kicking off next month with ‘The Forge’.

Square Enix has done that heinously irritating thing wherein they say it’s a ‘free download’ to all Season Pass owners, which is basically like saying the Coke in a can of Coke is free to anyone who buys a can of Coke.

But enough about semantics, The Forge is a paid expansion to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, centred on a lava-flooded Forge of the fallen gods in an effort to unearth the secrets of the Kuwaq Yaku. If that name’s familiar to you, that’s because Kuwaq Yaku is an area in the main game; Eidos Montreal has simply bolted on a new addition.

To be quite honest, The Forge sounds like a pretty content-light DLC, adding in just a single new challenge tomb. Upon completion, players will be rewarded with the Grenadier skill, Brocken outfit, and Umbrage 3-80 weapon. Which, for $4.99, sounds a bit steep, but hopefully there's a bit more to this expansion than Square Enix is letting on.

However, if you’ve forked out $29.99 for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Season Pass, there is the promise of six additional expansion yet to come. The worry is that Eidos Montreal has confirmed all seven pieces of DLC will be challenge tombs, each offering a new weapon, outfit, and skill, none of which sounds like a particularly great buy for 30 bucks.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - The Forge will be available from November 13th across PC, Ps4 and Xbox One.
