DICE has unleashed the Battlefield V official single-player trailer, running through each of the four War Stories that are going to form Battlefield V’s campaign. The “untold stories of World War 2” is the theme for this particular outing, putting players into the shoes of a German Tiger I tank driver; withstanding Germany occupation as a resistance fighter in Norway; becoming an unlikely English hero, or fighting for a nation you’ve never even known in Tirailleur.

We’ll have to put together the bits and pieces from the Battlefield V story trailer, although the British soldier War Story, ‘Under No Flag’, currently seems the most run-of-the-mill of the bunch based upon our fleeting glimpses.

Nordlys is centred on the German occupation of neutral Norway, a period which stretches from 1940 right through to Germany’s surrender in 1945. In this particular story, you play as a Norwegian woman, one of many that joined in the fight against the Nazi forces.

The Last Tiger attempts to tell a story few games have ever tried; that of the life of a German tank driver during the latter stages of World War 2. The Allied forces are closing in and all hope has faded away.

Last but not least - Tirailleur. This is the story of the Senegalese Tirailleurs, a regiment of the French Army with its origins stretching back into the 19th century. The Tirailleurs were deployed in France in an effort to halt the threat of bordering Fascist Italy and were called into service due to the great loss of French troops during the First World War. The troops ultimately battled across Corsica and Italy, and aided with the liberation of southern France in 1944.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 forgoing a campaign entirely this year, there’s a big opportunity for Battlefield 5 to step up and steal the show. Battlefield V should’ve been out this week but, due to a delay, it’ll be ready to roll on November 20th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
