The Crew 2 has found its wild side with the announcement of a Demolition Derby update for the open-world racer. In the base game, the vehicles in The Crew 2 are untouchable pristine mean machines, but with the Demolition Derby discipline, players are going to be able to crush, smash and box other cars into smithereens.
Arriving as a totally free update to The Crew 2 on December 5th, the Demolition Derby update allows players to race for podium finishes in two new arenas with crisscrossing tracks engineered for destruction. It all sounds a bit Vigilante 8 with obstacles light elevators and spring-loaded boxing gloves, as well as an aircraft cemetery map. If I can get into a blimp and take off, I’ll be chuffed.
Bizarrely for a game that’s all about racing online, this update also brings with it the debut of PvP racing to The Crew 2. Players start at Rookie-level and can then compete against other racers in various disciplines to rank up for exclusive rewards and top-level gear.
The Crew 2 - Demolition Derby is out on December 5th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
