One of the greatest strengths of PC gaming is the vastness of choice available to us in terms of hardware, whether that's custom keyboards, a shiny new graphics card, an ultra-slim case, or a magnificent 4K monitor. It may make our wallets weep, but the sheer range of options means you can build the most perfect gaming experience possible.
It's why we celebrate the best of hardware during the Global Game Awards, rewarding the work that goes on underneath the hood as well as on the screen.
2018 has been a great year for hardware with both Intel and AMD significantly upping their CPU game as that particular competition gets heated. Nvidia has been a standout too, introducing real-time raytracing in consumer-focused graphics cards for the first time ever with the GeForce RTX 20 series. But it's a year that's also got us excited for what's coming next, with major PC and console hardware advancements set to make 2019 a very exciting year for tech lovers.
