We had to get by on the barest of scraps but sure enough, Dragon Age 4 was revealed at the Game Awards.

Those expecting a big blowout will come away severely disappointed though. It’s been four years since Dragon Age Inquisition and we’ve probably a good few more to wait until the sequel arrives.

A teaser trailer for Dragon Age 4 which showed, well, not a lot really. There’s a little voice-over that says “You’ve found me at last. I suspect you have questions…” and the hashtag #TheDreadWolfRises, but that’s about it.

The cynic in me thinks Dragon Age 4 is barely even in the planning stages, let alone in active development. That would mean a good few years wait until it becomes the real deal. Who knows though, Bioware has the capacity to surprise us every now and then.

“While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days,” said executive producer Mark Darrah in a separate blog post.

Fire up the hype thrusters for Dragon Age 4 then? Or is it a little early to get excited?

It's never too early for people with brains to have a cup of coffee and go "to be or no to be". After Origins, nothing was, as it should be. My fingers are tired. For real. No matter what these turd makers promise, take with salt.

Love the Dragon Age series, but I hate the cliffhanger after Trespasser DLC from DA:I. Sure they wanted to build the hype from it, but it's EA afterall so I'm not joining the hype train.

I hope we don't have to pay to unlock a full trailer soon.

Bioware lost their magic after Dragon Age: Origins, after that it was downhill from there. The only way they could recover if they can make DA:4 like Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur's Gate 1/2, KOTOR and Mass Effect 1/2.

I want a Dragon Age with my Grey Warden and Morrigan. And I want it to be good, that's all I ask.

While I’m very excited for a new DA game, I just really hate when companies only push out this barebones teaser. I’d honestly rather have no announcement than a teaser where they don’t even give a title. Same with Bethesda and TES6. Just hold off until you have, well, anything to show. Again, I’m excited for the game, and hopefully they’ll make it more like Origins this time around (very doubtful).

After 2, Inqusition, Andromeda, how derivative Anthem is looking, I'm honestly confused what there's even to look forward too. Even the franchise creator left the company.

I'd say they killed the Dragon Age series after Dragon Age 2 started the process. DAI just hammered that final nail in the coffin pretty well. Still enjoy the hell out of DA:O though.

Have you tried DA:I DLC The Tresspaser? That DLC totally encapsulates what makes Dragon Age, Dragon Age.
