We had to get by on the barest of scraps but sure enough, Dragon Age 4 was revealed at the Game Awards.

Those expecting a big blowout will come away severely disappointed though. It’s been four years since Dragon Age Inquisition and we’ve probably a good few more to wait until the sequel arrives.

A teaser trailer for Dragon Age 4 which showed, well, not a lot really. There’s a little voice-over that says “You’ve found me at last. I suspect you have questions…” and the hashtag #TheDreadWolfRises, but that’s about it.

The cynic in me thinks Dragon Age 4 is barely even in the planning stages, let alone in active development. That would mean a good few years wait until it becomes the real deal. Who knows though, Bioware has the capacity to surprise us every now and then.

“While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days,” said executive producer Mark Darrah in a separate blog post.

Fire up the hype thrusters for Dragon Age 4 then? Or is it a little early to get excited?
