Bloober Team has dropped the first proper trailer for Layers of Fear 2, the follow-up to its hit psychological horror game based on an artist rapidly losing grip on his own sanity.
Layers of Fear 2 marks a big change from the dilapidated mansion that formed the backdrop for the original, this time dropping the player into a terrifying abandoned ship. There’s an early 20th-century vibe to this seafaring vessel. Think Titanic minus the passengers. And the iceberg. Maybe.
That’s the dulcet tones of Tony Todd you can hear there, the voice of none other than the Candyman.
Actual details on Layers of Fear 2 are tremendously thin on the ground. It’s all guesswork from the trailer alone, although it appears the concept of time, and time’s ability to destroy, that will form the foundations of this hellish trip. This time around you’ll allegedly be playing as an actor, one who’s gearing up for a starring role while being plagued by a past atrocity.
Bloober Team has announced a release window for Layers of Fear 2 just yet aside from a vague ‘2019’. With the marketing beginning to ramp up though, it’s probably not going to be too far off.
