Avalanche Studios has revealed co-op 80's squad-shooter Generation Zero will be launching on March 26th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It'll carry a budget price point of £30 on PC and £35 on consoles and it'll allow players to explore open-world rural Sweden while avoiding deadly robotic enemies. The Just Cause developer doesn't usually go easy on our rigs though, so here are the Generation Zero PC system specs.

Generation Zero Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz or AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 35GB Available Hard Drive Space

Generation Zero Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 4GB or AMD Radeon R9 280
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 35GB Available Hard Drive Space

Considering Generation Zero uses the same Apex game engine version of Just Cause 4, the system requirements are pleasantly low. Evidently, the smaller-scale action at much slower speeds leaves a whole lot less for our systems to do.

It means Generation Zero has some rock bottom minimum specs, suggesting you'll need just about any quad-core processor paired with a low-end (and old) GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870. Most modern hardware can absolutely crush these specs so we don't envision too many issues for folks hoping to play Gen Zero at 1080p.

The recommended specs for Generation Zero are a bump up but they're still down at the low-end for a typical AAA title today. Generation Zero doesn't really fit into the AAA bracket anyway though. You'll be needed a higher-clocked quad-core CPU (and modern quad-core will do the trick) along with a GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 280 graphics card. The catch is Avalanche suggests 4GB of video memory. Only specific models of the GTX 960 have 4GB VRAM and 4GB R9 280's don't even exist. This is a bit of a slip-up on Avalanche's part so either Generation Zero actually recommends 3GB video memory of you'll be needing a Radeon R9 280X instead.

Is this multiplayer only? Or there is gonna be a singleplayer campaign?
Anyone knows yet?

Beta was fun to play, although there where a few negative points to improve. Hopefully they did something with the Surveys.

Yeah, the aiming was pretty bad and the game felt empty as heck. It's better with friends, but then again I can't use that to defend this game while also using it to attack Fallout 76 with out sound like a complete hypocrite. If I have the money come March I'll probably get it, if anything to support the devs.
