Gather your buddies, World War Z has a release date. The co-operative zombie horde shooter will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 16th. The PC version, naturally, is going to be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
World War Z is under development at Saber Interactive, the same folks who brought us, umm, Spintires, TimeShift and NBA Playgrounds. Not the first name that comes to mind when you think of FPS but hey, everyone’s got to start somewhere.
A release date announcement means a brand new trailer of course, providing a few gameplay peeks at what’s shaping up to be one heck of a chaotic shooter. Saber is claiming its proprietary Swarm Engine means hundreds of zombies can be rendered on-screen at any one time, with support for up to four-players taking part co-operatively as well as team-based Player vs Player vs Zombies modes.
It being 2019 and all, there are a bunch of pre-order goodies for those who want to risk taking the plunge. All World War Z pre-orders including the Lobo Weapon Pack with the ARK-103 assault rifle, Keris V10 SMG and 1911 Protector – as well as the ultimate zombie-slaying tool, the Lobo melee weapon, a dual-bladed spade perfect for making mincemeat of the undead.
World war Z comes to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 16th. The full system requirements for WWZ can be seen here.
