Metro Exodus is out now on PC and consoles, available exclusively through the Epic Games Store on PC unless you were quick enough to get a pre-order in on PC.

PC players stand to benefit most from this patch thanks to a range of performance improvements, in particular to DLSS and ray-tracing optimisation. If you’ve seen any benchmarks doing the rounds over the last few weeks then these may potentially be outdated already so we’ll endeavor to see what the Metro Exodus PC performance is like on launch day.

Of particular interest for GeForce RTX owners concerned about the DXR and DLSS features, 4A Games claims this update has tuned the sharpness of DLSS to improve image quality, although like Battlefield V this is a work in progress.

The Metro Exodus day one patch also includes a handful of bug fixes, general polish and performance optimisations, all of which should hopefully help this immensely demanding game run a little better.
