We've taken a look at ray-tracing performance in Metro Exodus, as well as the most demanding of its (limited) graphics options, but how does Metro Exodus shape up for the average player who isn't looking to take advantage of those snazzy ray-tracing effects? Here we've taken a quick look at general gaming performance in Metro Exodus for the GeForce RTX 2060 and GeForce GTX 1070, both if which slot in bang in line with the recommended system recommends for Metro 3.
In theory, both the RTX 2060 and GTX 1070 should be capable of playing Metro Exodus at 1080p on High, but we're going to see if we can push this pair even further.

Metro Exodus Benchmarks
Metro Exodus benchmarks and frames per second analysis performed on GeForce RTX 2060 6GB | Intel i7-5820K | 16GB DDR4
For this Metro Exodus benchmark, we used a PNY GeForce RTX 2060 XLR8 equipped with 6GB GDDR6 video memory. It’s backed up by 16GB DDR4 memory and an Intel Core i7-5820K CPU.
Our Metro Exodus benchmarks were performed using the provided benchmark tool.

There's little doubt about it, Metro Exodus packs a punch. The GeForce RTX 2060 is usually a very reliable card even at 1440p but in Metro Exodus we see it needs to drop down to 1080p/High in order to maintain a steady 60 frames per second. The Extreme preset in particular brings it to its knees and it's evident Metro Exodus is going to become the de facto benchmark of choice for those looking to truly test the performance of their GPUs.

As expected, the GeForce GTX 1070 comes in marginally short of the performance offered by the RTX 2060. Nvidia's previous-gen card has been usurped across the board and is certainly going to be better off catering to 1080p gamers in Metro Exodus. On average we're looking at the GTX 1070 scoring around 14% fewer FPS than the RTX 2060 when playing at 1440p.

the in game benchmark is not a true representation of how the game actually performs. it is far better than the benchmark tool
PC Specs
Well not really, in many parts performance is better but in later levels its pretty much like in benchmark as i have heard.
PC Specs
I've been told that the benchmark has a bit worse representation of FPS, meaning you'll get a bit higher FPS on average.

no way i can pull this one with my fx-8320

can i run ultra >??
PC Specs
Yes you can. I can so why you shouldn't? I'll add "smooth" on top of it. Just don't go for higher resolutions.
PC Specs
21 fps? Yikes
PC Specs
Almost Cinematic, Ubisoft would say:D
PC Specs
Well as im graphics junkie im still going to run it maxed out ;)
PC Specs
You'll get easily 50+fps, when you look at the sky :)
but jokes aside, I fully understand you. Sometimes one must experience the full beauty of a game, no matter the fps :)
PC Specs
Quite demanding to say the least

quite unoptimised to say the least
