Rockstar have officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto 5's release date. It is set to launch in Spring of 2013.

No one is safe from the Internet, not even Rockstar. When there poster artworks leaked, Rockstar were quick to react...

They had to calm down the community after thousands flocked their social sites and caused an uproar. Besides the trailer, and some screenshots, everything else was a rumor and the fans ha the right. Rockstar on their part, obliged.

Rockstar has now updated their official game-site and added the launch window:

"Today, we're proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide Spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3."

Also, they released a synopsis for the highly-awaited game:

"Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond - from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean."

Want to pre-order the game now? You'l have to another 5 days:

"Starting nest week November 5, 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will become available for pre-order everywhere and fans can expect a host of new information to become available in November."

Remember we kept telling you about the blowout of GTA 5 news in the near future? Well GD'ers, this is it, with more to come!

And those leaked artworks were real after all. Here is another artwork; this time from Rockstar themselves and we think it's the best of the lot...

As for the PC version, the developers completely avoided the question and later said that they're not ready to talk about it yet. That's not surprising as we already alerted you of the PC-platform's absence. What we can hope now is that they release close to the console versions and not a year apart like it's predecessor.

So, will you pre-order GTA V when it goes live on November 5th? Are you disappointed with the treatment given the PC community? Let us know with your comments below!
