EA has announced we’ll get our first ever look at Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order during the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago takes place from April 11th-15th and there’ll be a special panel on Saturday, April 13th, dedicated to revealing what Respawn has been working on alongside Apex Legends.

Players will finally see who the mysterious Padawan is who survived Order 66 (the extermination of all Jedi) in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. They’ll be the playable protagonist in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, taking part in a galaxy-trotting adventure set between the events of Star Wars Episode III & IV: A New Hope.

EA has also reconfirmed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is on track for a fall 2019 release and that we can expect plenty of details during the Star Wars Celebration event.

It’s been so long since we’ve had a genuinely great Star Wars game that I think there’s a real opportunity to knock it out the park here with Fallen Order. We know Respawn has the shooter chops thanks to Titanfall and Apex, and now we just want to see that turned toward a meaty single-player Star Wars experience.

We’ll bring you more details of SWJ: Fallen Order just as soon as we hear it.

Our favourite comments:

Back then they were pumping them like there's no tomorrow. I wouldn't mind 1 game per year, but half a decade has passed and all we have are 2 disasters.

This is solely Respawn, no one else has touched it as far as we know. It's a different project to the Visceral/Motive Star Wars game

I'll bite if it is a good game... but man I want a sprawling single player RPG like the original Knights of the old Republic from Bioware, that is set in a completely different time period from the movies. That game was one of the most memorable RPGs I ever played from Bioware. Why can't EA do this...

because in their opinion singleplayer games are a dying genre (which they have been proven wrong in during the last year and a half with games such as god of war and red dead redemption 2)

Well it's that and EA high ups thinking no one will be interested in a Star Wars game if it isn't riddled with popular characters for wider audience appeal. Again showing that they have no bloody idea what business they're running.

I have another confession to make. The only reason I ever watched the Star Wars movies is because I loved KOTOR. Until then I had very little interest in it.

No we've got a logo and that's about it. It's an action-adventure, if that helps, not sure if first or third-person.

I really doubt its a singleplayer knowing EA. Also EA publishing it should have everyone worried.

It'll have single-player, like all EA games except for Anthem and Apex. They publish some great games so I won't be worried until I see it! Respawn have certainly got my trust for now...

I'm not really paying attention to the publisher, feels a bit irrelevant, they've got some great games, some bad, I don't think it has a bearing on the quality of a Respawn product. Respawn hasn't disappointed me yet so I have no reason not to be optimistic.

except star wars is a EA exclusive IP that tells us they have a big say in it and everything EA touches turns to crap.

I saw "Respawn's Star Wars" in the title and expected the next word to be "cancelled".
EA is really doing it crazy with all this up and coming Star Wars titles, I can barely keep up.

I swear we used to get like 5 or 6 Star Wars games a year lol, I'd like a few more tbh although not as many as that.

The writing was on the wall for that for a while, especially once Starbreeze basically went bankrupt because it was investing millions in crazy VR stuff
