Everyone's 10th-favourite Assassin's Creed game is being given the remaster treatment this month. Assassin's Creed III: Remastered updates the colonial America stab-em-up for a modern audience, moving to a new graphics engine, enhancing the visuals, improving gameplay mechanics and more. AC3 may be seven years but don't expect running the remastered version to be an easy task though...

If you watch the comparison trailer below, you'll probably find yourself a little confused at just how demanding this ACIII remaster is considering the relatively minor improvement to visuals. You are not alone.

The original Assassin's Creed 3 recommended a Radeon HD 5770 or GeForce GTX 260, so this is some leap. That the GTX 970 and Radeon RX Vega 56 can't run this at 4K/60 has us simultaneously worried about performance and simultaneously wondering whether the visual improvement is greater than we're giving Ubisoft credit for.

AC's sludgy controls mean it's usually a strong candidate for running at 30fps if you need to, but 60fps is obviously the ideal. For that, you're going to required a 4GB video card such as the GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 290X. The GTX 1060 and Radeon RX 480 should blitz through ACIII on Ultra, no problem.

CPU demands are less of a worry, with Assassin's Creed 3 typically leaning toward the lower end of the scale, favouring quad-core processors.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Assassin's Creed 3: Remastered benchmark chart.

Impressed that the AMD FX 8350 can do 60fps on this game just goes to show it's still a beast of a cpu.

but thats like being upset that your grandchildren will see end of mankind bec we humans continue to milk our self as existance and we will never know how will it end same here every ac game have ending for them self and all are connected to first civilisation and that story dosnt need to ever end

I cant quite agree... But new AC games are not what usually AC games used to be.
I am not saying that Origins and Odyssay are bad, just they don't quite follow the original idea.
In the end, some people will love it, others will hate it.
And that was quite expected. Ubisoft really experimented with these games.

They have to, it seems that they run out of ideas. They can easily make an Altair trilogy and add new stuff and features to it.The same with the Ezio trilogy, they can create a more beautiful game, with new mechanics and more missions

Why the hell would black flag need a remaster? It literally came out on ps4, and still looks amazing today. It's like saying GTA V needs a remaster.

Rendered at a higher resolution (as if we couldn't do that already...), extra hazy and with an added piss-filter... Nice...

I hope they fixed the way the game resources r managed unlike origins and odyssey. we don't want the constant loading and unloading of resources in the game every second and keep the cpu at 100 and later make gamers blame vmprotect and denuvo for it.

DOOM 3 BFG?
and all other games are old around 10years so they are okey to get remaster but somehow i think that FEAR and STALKER would change the feel of them if they change them, and Dead Space still looks prety good to me

DOOM3 BFG isn't really a "remaster" as far as I'm concerned. They just changed the engine, added an armor-mounted flashlight (which used to be a mod for the OG DOOM3) and brightened up the view a bit - but everything else is the same, including the models and textures (which are bad). I'd love a proper remaster of that game with better models and textures, maybe some particle effects, etc. Would be cool.

As i remember bfg had much sharper textures and was more dedetailed like a classic remaster this days, change resolution of textures and maby add better lighting and call it a remaster

No, the textures were not at all "much sharper". Same crap with a slight sharpening filter, if that. They didn't remaster jack in the BFG edition, just dumped it into a new engine with controller support.

Idk in my memory it stayed like it looked a lot different, but in all its better then what most of the games get as remasters

AC2 trilogy has already been remastered. And they aren't good enough to justify remakes

Watched the trailer, the graphics comparison isn't that much of a difference to me to make me want to buy the remaster. Plus I still have to complete odyssey yet :P
