UPDATE: The Epic Store hate bandwagon is probably going to pick up a few more passengers next month. It's now being confirmed the Epic Games Store is the official sponsor of the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019. Previous sponsors have included AMD, Intel, and Microsoft, with the live showcase offering them a chance to show off their wares to a large audience.
As you'd expect with Epic throwing its cash around, the sponsorship means we will see the reveal of several new Epic Games Store exclusives during the E3 live show.
"This year the PC Gaming Show's presenting sponsor is the Epic Games store," writes the hosts, PC Gamer. "Epic will reveal brand new material for several games, including some exclusives, coming to the Epic Games store. Additional sponsors include E-WIN, Frontier, Funcom, Paradox Interactive, Perfect World Entertainment, Rebellion, and Tripwire Interactive. PC gaming wouldn't have a presence at E3 without the support of these companies."
Developers and publishers confirmed for the event so far include:
- Annapurna Interactive
- Digital Extremes
- Digital Uppercut
- Fellow Traveller
- Modus Games
- Raw Fury
We'll be keeping a close eye on this one when it takes place on June 10th. It's sure to prove a controversial time, particularly with Epic making such aggressive moves in terms of exclusive content for its storefront.
Original Story: 03-Apr-2019 - PC Gaming Show Live Conference is Back For E3 2019
The PC Gaming Show is back for its fifth live E3 conference in June, joining Bethesda and Ubisoft in adding a bit of bulk to E3 2019 after both Sony and EA dropped out.
Streamed live on Twitch, the PC Gaming Show will take place on Monday, June 10th, at 10am PST, 1pm EST, 6pm BST, and 7pm in central Europe.
As always, the showcase will be a hub for all the weird and wonderful happenings in PC gaming. The PC Gaming Show usually has a very different flavour to the other conferences, hosting developer chats, showing off mods, PC hardware, and other, more experimental goodies.
Expect plenty of juicy game reveals from indie all the way up to AAA, as well as all sorts of news on all the Epic Store exclusives coming our way shortly. Okay, that last bit hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I think we all know it’s happening. I’ll eat my hat if Epic CEO Tim Sweeney isn’t on stage at some point to evangelise his store in front of a potential audience of millions.
E3 2019 is now taking shape. Bethesda’s will take place on Sunday, June 9th, at 5:30pm, the PC Gaming Show is Monday, June 10th at 10am, and Ubisoft’s is on Monday, June 10th at 1pm. Sony and EA have confirmed they won’t be having E3 2019 press conferences this year.
And, while CD Projekt RED isn’t hosting a conference, the Cyberpunk 2077 developer has said E3 2019 will be the biggest in its history. All we’re waiting for now is Microsoft to round out the pack.
