In an announcement that’s come out of nowhere, cult-classic cel-shaded shooter XIII is getting a remake. Microids is rebuilding the FPS from the ground up with revamped visuals, and it’s due out this very year.
In XIII Remake you play as a soldier washed up on Brighton Beach and with no memory of what's happened. You have a tattoo on your collarbone and you've been accused of killing the President of the United States. Spraying bullets is the only way to get the answers you need. What a setup. What a game. Yes please, in my veins.
XIII Remake features a 34-level single-player FPS campaign, a unique comic-style cel-shaded visual design, and more than 20 conspirators who are looking to take XIII down. Originally a Ubisoft gig, XIII is one of those games that slots in nicely with the No One Lives Forever era, offering stealth-based gameplay, plenty of gadgets, and a globe-trotting mission.
The XIII Remake is due to come to PlayStation 4 on November 13th. No further platforms have been announced just yet, although it seems a given it’ll also be coming to PC and Xbox One.
