Bloober Team, the quietly unsung heroes of adventure horror are back with Layers of Fear 2, the follow-up to, you guessed it, Layers of Fear. After a brief sojourn for Observer, Layers of Fear 2 is set aboard a terrifying ocean liner this time, centred on a Hollywood actor answering a casting call for a new movie. Publisher Gun Media has announced Layers of Fear 2 will be coming to PC and consoles on May 28th, which means we've also got the LoF2 system specs to boot.
Layers of Fear 2 Minimum System Requirements

- CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-8150 3.6 GHz

Layers of Fear 2 Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6 GHz
- RAM: 8 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 8 GB Video Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
- API: DirectX 11
- HDD: 14 GB Available Hard Drive Space
The system requirements for Layers of Fear 2 represent a sizeable leap over the original, although it's been almost three years so that's to be expected. As far as system specs go though, the minimum requirements for Layers of Fear 2 seem pretty reasonable. A low-end 2GB DDX11 video card paired with a fairly modest quad-core CPU will do the trick and the slow-paced exploration means high frame rates aren't a must.
If you're hoping to crank all those sliders up and see Layers of Fear 2 in all its grisly detail then you'll be needing a considerably more powerful system. Bloober Team hasn't outlined what resolution these specs are targeting, although we'd hazard a guess this what you'll need to run LoF2 on at least 1440p screen resolution, perhaps even 4K.
As always, you can check out how well your PC can run Layers of Fear 2 System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. I think there will be the need to specify on which PC stores any game gets released. Not only cause personally i won't touch the EGS, but maybe to start giving out credit to the others sotres like GOG, Discord or whatever else is out there.
