Mortal Kombat 11 has received its second PC patch. It certainly needs a few, so this would ordinarily be something to be nice and excited about. Unfortunately, it comes with a major caveat - Mortal Kombat 11 PC Patch 2 breaks support for the recently released 60 frames per second mod. Boooooooo.

We’d imagine modifying the files to support the updated version was a fairly simple move for the mod’s creator, Endry Lauson, who has already released an updated version of the mod. That doesn’t stop it from a pain in the arse for him, and us, as we repeatedly have to update the mod to remove the default 30 FPS lock on cut-scenes and Fatalities, as well as enable full 21:9 support. Still, enough grumbling, what’s done is done, and this latest patch for Mortal Kombat 11 does at least fix an entire swathe of PC-related issues. Those after performance-related fixes may find themselves disappointed, but anyone struggling with game crashes and other issues should enjoy a smoother ride once this patch is installed. Improvements include fewer crashes, no game hangs when using G-Sync or FreeSync, improvements to online matchmaking, and an assortment of other multiplayer-related bugs.

Those aggrieved at MK11’s microtransactions and the grind to unlock new content could be well served by increased rewards from the Krypt, AI Battle Mode, and increased Koin rewards for winning Ranked Matches.

Last but not least, NetherRealm is distributing a package of 500,000 Koins, 1,000 Souls, 1,000 Time Crystals, and 500 Hearts, as a thank you to PC players (and their patience).

  • Fixed an exploit that allowed for more than one variation of a character to be set as default, which could then result in an online desync when trying to select that character
  • Fixed a rare issue that occurred if the user lost internet connectivity while customizing their character, which would sometimes result in that variation being saved with some items being locked
  • Fixed a rare issue that was affecting some user progression after using Kenshi’s blindfold in the Krypt to fully drain their Soul Fragments

  • Kitana’s Fans will no longer sometimes remain invisible if she is interrupted out of Edenian Fade with specific timing

Towers of Time Adjustments
