Has it really been two years already? It must be time for another WRC. WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship is the only genuine competitor to Dirt Rally these days. WRC 8 massively increases its offering this year with more than 100 tracks, redesigned career mode, 50 teams, 14 countries, and dynamic weather. But what PC hardware will you require to run WRC 8? Let's find out.
WRC 8 Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i3-540 3.06 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.3 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 6870
- DX: DirectX 11
- HDD: 19 GB Available Hard Drive Space
WRC 8 Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
- RAM: 8 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 3 GB Video Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290
- DX: DirectX 11
- HDD: 19 GB Available Hard Drive Space
It's all change for WRC 8 as the minimum system specs are being dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age. It's not enough of an increase to worry most folks with even low-end PCs but the minimum bar has certainly been raised for the 8th outing. There's minimal change for the CPUs but the minimum spec GPUs have risen from a GeForce 9800 GTX or Radeon HD 5750 up to a GeForce GTX 560 or Radeon HD 6870. Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of DirectX 11, WRC 8.
RAM and HDD space recommendations remain exactly the same as last year's outing though, while the recommended graphics cards for WRC 8 are also identical. We're therefore expecting WRC 8 to be much the same, visually, as WRC 7. If you could run WRC 7 at stable frame rates, it's pretty safe to assume you'll be able to get nearly identical performance here.
Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the WRC 8: FIA World Rally Championship System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the WRC 8: FIA World Rally Championship GPU benchmark chart.

Very light game as always, I just wonder if it will actually be as good as the older ones, as the last three games in the series weren't that good, WRC 7 was a major improvement over 5 and 6 though.

I like racing games better than action/horror/adventure games most likely
