If you’re of the Diablo persuasion, and you’ve got one or two painted minifigures lurking in your closet, then it’s safe to say Warhammer: Chaosbane may tickle your fancy. We get approximately 726 Warhammer games every year of course, so it’s quite an endeavour to sort the proverbial wheat from the chaff. Chaosbane is already looking very wheaty though, particularly with the folks who created the immensely popular How to Survive behind the steering wheel.

Warhammer Chaosbane brings its plenty of action-RPG anarchy and co-op bloodthirst to PC and consoles on June 4th, offering up Gauntlet meets Diablo with four playable character classes and a grisly romp across Warhammer’s Old World.

Naturally, you’ll probably be wanting a reason for why you’re an angry, dual axe-wielding dwarf out for blood. Step forward, Chaosbane’s story trailer. Strap in for the Wall of Lore™.

“In an age of lawlessness and despair The Empire of Man lay in ruins, torn asunder by civil war and wracked by famine and plague. And so it was, in the year 2301, that a Kurgan warlord named Asavar Kul united the savage tribes of the Chaos Wastes and made war upon the realms of men. The invaders entered the distant northern kingdom of Kislev and sacked its largest city, Praag. But in the Empire’s darkest hour, a nobleman from the south named Magnus rallied the people of the Empire to resist the invaders. The Imperial army marched to the rescue of the Kislevite capital fighting Kul’s army in a massive battle outside the city walls. Joined by mighty heroes from all across the land, Magnus defeated Kul in single combat, and the Chaos horde was scattered to the winds. Blessed by the gods and heralded as the true Emperor, Magnus returned to Nuln in triumph. But even as the Old World celebrated Magnus’s victory the Dark Gods were planning their revenge.”

And look, because that trailer shows precisely nothing of the game, why not treat yourself to a peek at gameplay as well.

Fingers crossed, we should have a review of Warhammer: Chaosbane with you shortly. We have the football, so to speak, we just need to pass it on to the president.

Warhammer: Chaosbane comes to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 4th.

Am I the only one who wants a first person action RPG? Like the over the top camera and style and game design action-rpgs are oversaturated and after playing some of the best out there, I'd like an action-RPG in first person with a more complex and open world than just hubs for quests and vendors and areas for killing monsters and a few other slightly different areas and hubs...

I think I know what you're talking about: Space Marine!!!
Or even better: just like the transition from action-slash game of Darksiders 1 to a little bit more RPG-style Darksiders 2 - so now if we do this for Space Marine, we get a bit more open world & more RPG focused one BUT keeping the sweet mele combat style!

Third person would be great too, but I was thinking first person like a shooter, but with the mechanics and abilities and movements of action-rpgs, would be awesome and they could even port it for VR.
First person action-rpg-hack and slash games need to exist imo. To see what it is like to do all these movements in a first person view.

And the world needs to be more organic as I said.

well, at this point they tried almost every game style - so the next is gonna be either what you suggested OR a WARHAMMER Racing game (not a joke!)!

I'd prefer yearly games than no games to be honest. But I'd just like them to take their time make a great game and have the foundations for sequels and spam sequels.
