Total War: Three Kingdoms has enjoyed a total blockbuster launch weekend. Peaking at 191K concurrent players, TW3K is the most successful launch in Total War franchise history. Here we're looking to collect together the most widespread (and frustrating) issues with Total War: 3K, whether that's game crashes, low frame rates, stuttering, or graphical artifacting in Three Kingdoms Total War. Low frame rates in 3 Kingdoms: Total War

Total War: Three Kingdoms is quite a demanding PC game and low frame rates can be expected on lower-end hardware. Be sure to check out TW: Three Kingdom’s PC system requirements to ensure your PC hardware configuration meets the minimum specs.

If you are experiencing low FPS in Three Kingdoms then lower the graphics presets or the resolution in order to increase your frame rate. The minimum system requirements for Total War: Three Kingdoms are aimed at users playing at 1280 x 720p screen resolution, Low graphics preset, 25-30 frames per second.

Total War: Three Kingdoms stuttering on the campaign map

Some users have experienced micro-stutters as well as prolonged frame rate drops on the campaign map in Three Kingdoms. The FPS is also often lower within the campaign map than the large-scale army battles themselves. Unfortunately, there is no known fix for this but Creative Assembly is working on further performance optimisation, saying “We're actively investigating this at the moment”.

Total War: Three Kingdoms crash to desktop

While rare, TW:3K does sometimes crash to desktop. There can be many reasons for this based upon your particular hardware and software configuration. However, Creative Assembly is working to ensure a more stable play experience in Three Kingdoms. A small, first-pass stability fix was patched in on May 28th. This fixes several known crashes and is a 200MB download through your Steam client.
