One of the highlights of the Xbox E3 conference was the reveal of Blair Witch, a new story-driven psychological horror game designed to study and gauge a player's reaction when placed under extreme fear and stress. It all sounds like a proper jolly time. Blair Witch is from Bloober Team, the Layers of Fear studio, and it's coming to PC and Xbox One real soon, landing on August 30th. In the meantime, if you were wondering what the PC system specs for Blair Witch are, we've got you covered.

Blair Witch Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3 GHz or AMD A8-7600 3.1 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti or Radeon R7 265
  • API: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 16GB Available Hard Drive Space

Blair Witch Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 8 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 590 8GB
  • API: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 16GB Available Hard Drive Space

At first blush, you could take a look at the recommended specs for Blair Witch and be quite taken aback. They're actually pretty much identical to the recommended specs for Layers of Fear 2 though, and that's a game that runs reasonably well. There's also a huge disparity between the minimum and recommended specs, providing plenty of wiggle room for those with lower-end systems.

The only notable changes really are actually a drop in the minimum spec CPUs, falling from a quad-core i5 or FX-8150 down to a much more palatable Core i3-3220 or AMD A8-7600. We expect you can get even with even less, to be honest, although be prepared to hit the refund button Steam if it doesn't work out. Aside from this, you'll also need just 4GB RAM and a fairly low-level 2GB DX11 graphics card.

Should you want to max out Blair Witch's graphics then you'll need a hefty system though. It looks to be a great looking game based on the reveal trailer and some GPU grunt will be necessary. 8GB VRAM is recommended, using either a GTXs 1070 or Radeon RX 590. Nvidia's card has the upper hand here in terms of performance, so we suspect the 8GB video memory is the key factor in getting Blair Witch looking its best.

that vram requirement is taken out of ***. I don't know who came up with that. It's same as Layers of Fear 2 and 4GB vram will be completely enough for max out settings. Other than that game looks really interesting. Will look forward to it.

As someone who played and finished Blair Witch vol.1 back in 2000 this is not what I was expecting. It looks only like a random jump-scare horror game.
