UPDATE: Trust Nintendo to choose a random Wednesday afternoon in September to drop a showcase which ultimately proved bigger than its E3 offerings. We counted no fewer than 35 different Nintendo Switch announcements, more or less all related to games coming to us before the year's end, bar one or two notable exceptions.

Here we've rounded up every major announcement from the September 2019 Nintendo Direct, as well as the full video if you want to give it a watch yourself. There's not a great deal here which will be of interest to PC gamers but there a few bits, such as the surprise announcement of Deadly Premonition 2.

Original Story: 03-Sep-2019 - 40-minute Nintendo Direct confirmed for September 4th

And here we go again with the Nintendo Direct merry-go-round. Nintendo has announced an all-new Nintendo Direct will be taking place tomorrow, September 4th.

The September 2019 Nintendo Direct will be around 40 minutes long (roughly the same as the E3 presentation length) and will be primarily focused on upcoming 2019 Switch titles such as Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield and Luigi’s Mansion 3.

40 minutes is a heck of a long time to spend on games we already know a whole lot about though, so we’re expecting more than a few surprises. A look at the next Super Smash Bros Ultimate character seems assured, as does one final snippet on Zelda: Link’s Awakening ahead of its September 20th launch.

But, we’re more interested in what’s happening a little further afield. Right now, Nintendo only has Animal Crossing: New Horizons pencilled in for March 20th. Aside from this, it’s entire slate is clear. To that end, we reckon at least a couple of 2020 first-party titles could be unveiled.

The one final bit we’d love to see, although it’s probably a little too early to expect it to actually happen, is some further insight into the teased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel.

I'm praying they show gameplay of Bayonetta 3, BotW sequel, and say something about Metroid Prime Trilogy for switch and Metroid Prime 4.
