A genuine strategy classic, the long-running Romance of the Three Kingdoms series makes its return next month on PC withRomance of the Three Kingdoms XIV. I'll start with one very unusual thing you'll want to watch out for. At launch, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms XIV will allegedly require a Japanese version of Windows 8.1. This is because the initial release of the game will be Japanese-language only. You'll have to check for each language in your own territory but the English UI update is due to arrive on February 28th, 2020, some six weeks after Romance 14's January 16th launch on Steam. Certainly something to remember in case you're thinking of preordering as this game will be pretty much inscrutable unless you're fluent in Japanese.

With the formalities out of the way, the system specs themselves are fairly modest. RotTK is turn-based and so there isn't a desperate need for a high frame rate, meaning you should have plenty of scope for getting Romance of the 3 Kingdoms running on your system.

Your PC will need a graphics card that's as powerful as either a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or a Radeon RX 480 8GB, which should be paired with either a Ryzen 3 3200G/Core i7-3770 4-Core 3.4GHz CPU to match the Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV recommended system specs. This PC setup will deliver 60 FPS on High graphics settings on 1080p monitor resolution. You should also have 8 GB system memory.

If you're just aiming for the minimum specs, you'll only need 4 GB system memory for min specs. Another thing to consider is the DirectX capability of your GPU. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV needs a GPU capable of running DirectX 11. This means you will require a 3 year old PC to play smoothly.
