The GD Christmas tree's up and it's bloody freezing. It must be time for the 12 Games of Christmas, surely? After what has been a manic year in gaming it's time to take stock on the 12 biggest and best games that graced us with their presence.
If you cup your ear you can probably hear the distance sound of beating war drums. An army approaches. That tingle you feel is a natural reaction to your impending doom. It's all about to kick off in the 12 Games of Christmas 2019. 12 games will step up to the plate, 11 will meet their maker. One will walk out as the ultimate game you'd hope to find under your tree come Christmas morning or, if you're feeling particularly modern, gifted to your Steam account.
How the community voting works
Each day at 17:00 GMT two titles will battle each other. Whichever title receives the most votes in the poll wins, and will then go through to the next round. 12 games in total will be battling away, and the first six rounds will take place from today and over the next five days - one battle per day. The six games that win will make it through to the semi-finals, where three further 1v1 fights will take place. The winners of these three battles will then make it to the three-way final to decide the ultimate game this Christmas.
Each bout will last 23 hours, and the winner is whichever game receives the most votes in the poll, which can be found towards the bottom of each article.
Round 1: Fight 1 - Death Stranding v Red Dead Redemption 2
A number of folks were fairly vocal about the community-nominated winner of Game of the Year in our Global Game Awards 2019.Death Stranding walked out triumphant during what was an extremely tight contest. Hideo Kojima’s sci-fi delivery sim earned just 2% more votes than Resident Evil 2 and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.
For those who were displeased, here is your chance to right that particular ‘wrong’. Death Stranding will be squaring off against the PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in a battle of the cinematic open-worlds. One is couched in melodrama, the other is a gritty historical tale. It is the tale of gaming's biggest rockstar versus Rockstar itself. Neither pulls its punches in what’s sure to be an epic showdown between our two Game of the Year winners from 2018 and 2019.
Of these two lumbering giants, only one can walk out alive. Will Red Dead Redemption 2 be quick on the draw? Or will Norman Reedus's sad, sad face mean you take pity on Death Stranding? It's all down to you.
Get voting below for your winner, and remember to check back tomorrow for Day Two of the 12 Games of Christmas, where two more titles will battle it out to earn a place in the next round. The winner of today's competition will face the winner of tomorrow's competition in the semi-final on 15th December!

I actually like watchig DS no-spoiler no-talking chill streams. Almost feels like an ASMR vid.
Only downside is you have to scroll down to the bottom of the list to find a stream like this one.
PC Specs
to be honest they are both so similar as in Red Dead you can walk across the entire map even use a horse or a horse carridge set up camps come back from the dead and even walk through snow and wade through rivers the best point being you ca
PC Specs
can even carry the dead bodies with you or via a horse and even more via a carriadge. its got an inventory system extensive weather system and even physics based climbing and descending. a Very emotional story with amazing acting and epic M

Music. Both Games look great and are quite literally a sneak peak into next GEN GAMING. but i dont have a PS4 only pc so even though i already have RED DEAD ON PC i still say i dont mind getting it as my Christmas gift
PC Specs
Red Dead 2 is just too good, I love it
PC Specs
Seeing as Death Stranding is a weirdo niche game that barely has actual gameplay in it - I'd rather receive RDR2 (and I did buy it too), so I guess that's where my vote goes :D
PC Specs
Been playing Death Stranding for a while now and this myth of it having no gameplay in it is just weird. The game has combat, weapons, vehicles/driving, building and crafting.
PC Specs
I aint voting, but... Buh bye Death Stranding
PC Specs
Both. But since I can only choose one... Red Dead Redemption 2.
PC Specs
Didn't play either so I'm not going to vote.
PC Specs
Red Dead Redemption 2 of course. Despite technical issues on PC, when that gets fixed we will end up with amazing game, at least for singleplayer portion. But with Death Stranding, it just is too niche of a game. It isn't bad, it just doesn't appeal as much as RDR2. I am happy for people who like it, but being post apocalyptic delivery service just isn't for me.
PC Specs
If I had to choose I'd pick death stranding, but I don't really care for either game.
Also I'm making my predictions for Top 3: RDR2, Sekiro and Star Wars Fallen Jedi, alternatively, RDR2, The Outer Worlds and Star Wars Fallen Jedi.
PC Specs
why do you think that Star Wars Fallen Jedi will even be close to the top?
i mean i am currently playing it and game is pretty good but to many pips hate EA for it to get vote
PC Specs
Well I'm judging purely the games and their popularity/success.
PC Specs
Red dead duh
PC Specs
definitely not carrier simulator!
PC Specs
I didnt played them but i vote for Death Stranding for its sci-fi side.
