We are not that far away from the official launch of Crysis Remastered, which will be releasing as an Epic Games Store exclusive on September 18th, and as a celebration for all things PC gaming Crytek have released a brand new 4K screenshot running on the PC-exclusive “Can It Run Crysis?” Graphic mode.

Apparently, this new graphics feature is designed to utilize every bit of your PC hardware with unlimited settings, not many other details were given than that but it certainly sounds exciting! Also, a Reddit user by the name of Filipi_7 managed to nab some screenshots of the original game as a comparison, which you can check out below:

As you can see, the Remastered version has tonnes of stuff to talk about that involves graphical improvements over the original, including better geometry detail (I mean just look at those mountains), better textures, higher draw distance, shadow rendering distance, volumetric fog etc. Not to mention just better art direction overall, as the island now looks like an actual tropical island rather than some dark and grey landscape.

It's still interesting that these graphics don't exactly reflect the official Crysis Remastered PC system requirements which were not what we expected. Hopefully we'll be getting some updated specs soon at least.

But if you were wondering how this compares to the recently released Crysis Enhanced Edition mod, Filipi_7 also managed to grab a screenshot of the same place with the mod as well, so you can get a direct comparison below:

If you want to look at and download the full 4K resolution image of the new Crysis Remastered, then you can go here.

I'm just gonna say it: Making something more colorful doesn't make it more realistic.
Personally I prefer the style of the enhanced edition, they should have just gone with that and add more detail to the models and textures while introducing a few new technologies and that would have given, in my opinion, a much better result.

2-3 bases per map so that you have increased replay Value with ability to make your own objectives and share it online like the rebooted hit man games did

I don't want another crysis and I certainly don't want a sandbox.

what!!! why?? Crysis 07 was an amazing tactical shooter and sandbox games are fun since they let you do crazy things. even if not a crysis a crazy open ended Sandbox game from crytek will be great

I hope they release the remastered version of Crysis Warhead. I really enjoyed the expansion, even more than the original game.

I doubt my laptop can run that top setting at 60fps...not that I was planning to buy it anyway.

EDIT: Never mind, I don't play at 4K.

I actually like the more colourful remastered, it's a tropic setting after all.

The lack of color is one of my biggest gripes with the original. Everything is toned a notch towards grey.

The color combination in the new one is not good. also the gamplay is not enhanced. I prefer the original one darker green environment.

Even though remastered is much more detailed i dont like color palette on remastered, it has that gamery look with its bright and chemical colors, i much prefer original colors but world detail obviously is much better.

Simply from this screenshot no. Maybe the remastered hand lacks some (better) lighting/shadows and HBAO. But it's just one picture...
