This week marks the first technical playtest for Electronic Arts’ next game in the Battlefield series. Lucky participants have been invited to play the new Battlefield early under a strict NDA. However, that hasn’t stopped some players from leaking their gameplay experiences this week, as some of it has been uploaded online.
There are several playtest sessions occurring this week for Battlefield 2042, including five sessions that last for 3 hours, and the last one going for 9 hours. The playtest is likely an Alpha build of the game, so it is certainly not representative of the final experience, but it does give us a general idea of how the multiplayer will look and feel.
Needless to say, these videos will likely be taken down soon. Countless videos have already been uploaded and swiftly taken down, so if any of these videos do go offline then feel free to link some more in the discussions area below if you find one still available!
Fear not though, as a free Open Beta is planned this September before the game’s official launch on October 22nd. If you pre-order Battlefield 2042, or are an EA Play or EA Play Pro member, then you’ll get early access to that Open Beta. However, the official dates for the Open Beta have not yet been revealed.
What do you think? Are you excited for BF2042? What do you think of the leaked gameplay above? Let us know your thoughts!

People who believe there is a story are folling themselves. Publishers like to push out live-service experiences instead of games and yet try so hard to emulate the feeling of a single-player game with 'story' bits. FCK Battlefield 2042 for skipping the campaign.

It plays a lot like modern warfare 2019 gunplay and movement wise

The hype is real.

Great so far, glad they trying to make it nice.

Looks good for a pre-alpha, just do yourselves a favor and dont look in the comments, youll have an aneurysm from all the idiocy.

Thanks buddy, we are working hard to tidy things up. We have been forced to upgrade the infrastructure of the site by certain search engine giants and in doing so we had to rebuild the entire site again. So it has been a massive undertaking and certain things are compromised in order to achieve it for speed. But moving forward it means we will hopefully be able to develop faster and cleaner, while also delivering a faster website experience as well. But we have a lot more work still to do. Thanks for being positive. It really helps us keep our focus.

Oh the comment above was meant for the comments and gameplay on the videos for the bf2042 play test (should have clarified) but the website change looks good and yeah the captchas were annoying, cheers for listening to our feedback and making crucial and quick changes, much appreciated!

Just wanted to say that i like new design, sure it needs lots of polishing, but the layout is much better in many aspects.

Same, personally dislike all the changes made to the website, the older look was much simpler and looked nicer.

agree, this 2021 is full of sites i use that changed to more "simpler" confusing desings that looks like are made for mobile devices, shame everything needs to change at some point, tho i see the comment from Felix abow it seems that they were forced to update the engine/look

Could we not solve a captcha for every comment you want to make its really annoying... Its like trying to download a 1mb file from a mirror site but first you need to solve 3 captchas stare at four 30 second ads and send 5000$ to a nigerian prince before getting a download link.

Big agree
