Metal Slug may be one of the most beloved side-scrolling Action shoot-em-ups out there, doubly so because of its iconic art style. So naturally, when an isometric tactical spin-off was announced it turned some heads. But now we have another look at some gameplay to see what exactly it is we’ll be getting up to.

Metal Slug Tactics launches in 2022 and it’s safe to say that it was a surprising announcement during the Summer Games Fest that kicked off E3 2021 this year, and if you’ve been a little skeptical of it then check out this new look at the gameplay to see if it might be something for you:

Comparisons between Metal Slug Tactics and Into the Breach are rife online, and rightly so given the isometric perspective and grid-based combat. Hopefully we’ll get an even deeper and more extensive look into MST’s gameplay over the coming months as we get closer to the official launch.

What do you think? Are you excited for Metal Slug Tactics? How do you feel about the gameplay above? Which Metal SLug game is your favorite? Let us know!
