Battlefield 2042 Beta now seemingly set for September 22nd

After EA officially revealed the next game in the Battlefield series, they also announced a free Open Beta will be launching sometime in September. So far we haven’t heard anything official in terms of an exact release date yet, but a new report claims to debunk a previous rumor and will instead be coming on September 22nd.

Previously, an Italian retailer seemingly leaked the Battlefield 2042 Beta release date, saying it will run from September 6th to 11th. However, those dates seemed a little fishy, not only because they clash with the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta that is scheduled for September 10th on PlayStation, but also because they don’t fall on a weekend, which is usually when a Beta would take place.

The new information comes from 2 sources, both from credible insiders. The information first came from Tom Henderson, a very reliable Battlefield leaker, and has apparently been corroborated by known insider and another reliable leaker Jeff Grubb, who both say the BF2042 Beta will start on September 22nd.

It is currently unclear whether this will be the start of the Early Access Beta, which is available to those who pre-order the game as well EA Play members. But it’s likely the case since the media embargo also lifts on that same day. How long the early access period will last is also unknown, but based on speculation the beta will become open to everyone on September 24th.

What do you think? Are you excited for Battlefield 2042? Will you hop into the Beta? What are your hopes and worries for the multiplayer? Let us know!

Will you try out the Battlefield 2042 Beta?
