Alan Wake Remastered leaked online with October 5th release date

Earlier this year, a site tracker discovered a reference to the PlayStation-exclusive title of Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the Epic Games Store’s backend, essentially hinting at a PC release, as well as a reference to an Alan Wake Remastered. Now some foreign retailers seems to have accidentally spilled the beans on the latter and have already put the game up for pre-order.

We’ve known for a while that Remedy was working on more games in their Remedy Connected Universe, which previous rumors suggested an Alan Wake sequel and some other smaller-scale project. Although a sequel is still entirely possible, it looks like Remedy's smaller project is a remastered version of the original Alan Wake, and it might be launching on October 5th.

That’s according to the retail listing, which has pre-orders available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (and presumably Xbox One too). We can also presume it will be coming to PC as well, and will likely be an Epic store exclusive. Either way, it will apparently be officially announced this week (possibly during the PlayStation Showcase?), so we’ll have to wait and see.

What do you think? Are you interested in an Alan Wake Remaster? What would you like to see in the remaster? And do you think Remedy is still working on a sequel? Let us know!

Will it simply be a port over to the new engine and enabling of certain new features or same engine with lightning and texture + character model improvements? will remedy even do it themselves or outsource it? not really much scope for Ray Traced Reflections due to out door at night with thick fog and mud all over but Ray Traced Global illumination and shadows with increased god rays and amplified volumetric fog and particles would make this a killer remaster definitely worth a revisit. but that will also make the remaster kinda a big intensive task right? unless they are indeed making a sequel in which case they can probably create some assets and then sorta take it back and reuse here.

One of my favourite games. I still have my collector's edition of the Xbox 360 version. The writing in this game was amazing and so was the atmosphere. unfortunately, it will probably be an EGS exclusive...
