It seems to be Delay Day as Creative Assembly recently confirmed that their upcoming Strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3 has been delayed until early 2022. Now the Polish developer Techland has also confirmed that their upcoming, highly anticipated, zombie parkour game Dying Light 2 has been delayed again until February 2022.

The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it,” said the Dying Light 2 developers. “It is by far the biggest and most ambitious project we've ever done. Unfortunately, we've realised for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimise it.

Dying Light 2 is now launching on February 4th 2022. Of course, this isn’t the first time that DL2 has been delayed, as it was originally supposed to launch in early 2020 before getting pushed back to December 7th 2021. It may seem like a long time because of the new year, but it’s actually only a 2 month wait now.

We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don't want to compromise on this,” the statement continues.

Many of us would rather see a delayed game than a broken game released too early. However, the sad reality is that too many games recently have been released in a poor state even after being delayed multiple times. Not trying to be pessimistic here, but we should probably keep our expectations low when it comes to a final release date for Dying Light 2, just in case it gets delayed even further.

What do you think? Are you excited for Dying Light 2? Do you think it will actually release in February 2022? And do you think it will actually release in a decent state? Or will it be just as broken as other game releases of late? Let us know your thoughts!

Do you think Dying Light 2 will be a demanding game?

Get it done right or not at all please. Everyone is sick of half finished rushed releases. I wish you the best in finishing the game.

Possible, but at least they don't release an unfinished product ...

What I meant was that they set a release period before it was even close to being fully polished and is now pushing it back similar as what CDPR did.

I think they are actually genuinely delaying it till they fix it. Whole fiasco with CDPR and CP2077 was very loud and I think everyone is working hard for their game to not be next CP2077. So I doubt they will want to release it in bad state, especially since they are delaying it to make it better experience, so expectations will only be higher. But I guess we will see. I am definitely not one to complain about delays. Yes, I also would love to play it and it is bit disappointing because we will have to wait longer. But I also want good game, so I will gladly wait. In the end, you can't both have the cake and eat it at the same time. And I would prefer them not having to crunch for the game either.

Now wait just a minute. I still think the investors are the blame for the CDPR fiasco and somewhat gamers. The investors rushed managment for the game to be released and so here we. And gamers didnt help too much with thoose threats mails to CDPR.

Yes and no. I don't think it's the developers fault, but CDPR did make massive mistakes in marketing. Not as bad as, but certainly akin to No Man's Sky.

Lots of promises about features that never ended up in the final product.

Let's just hope it goes the same direction as NMS and turns into the game it should have been.

id rather they delay it, hell give them a year if they want it. id much rather that than pay £60 for a buggy messy that takes 5 years of half-arsed work to get out of early access alpha state. looking at you CDPR, EA, UBISOFT, HELLO GAMES (although id call their work anything but half-arsed <3 )

Feeling sad but it's good that it's delayed as we do not want a cyberpunk like fiasco..take your time dear developers and release it when it's ready..delay as much as you want and give us a great game in the end

It can be a disaster even after delayed like Cyber punk 2077.

Its come to light recently that people think consistently delaying a game is a sign of it getting polished. Like history has proved anything but the opposite.
