Arkane’s death-defying time-looping adventure launched to critical acclaim earlier this week, though fan reception has been a bit mixed on PC thanks to some questionable performance issues. And by that we don’t mean whether or not the reports are real, but that no one truly knows what is causing it.
Some say Denuvo, some say it's just the VOID engine at work as usual, and some say it just needs some more optimization. Unfortunately this whole issue has resulted in a lot of refunds, but for those of who can and are playing it currently, we want to know what you think of Deathloop so far!
Arkane’s games are usually known for their incredible gameplay and world design, creating absolutely incredible playgrounds to have fun in (these are the same developers who worked on The Clockwork Mansion, mind you, one of the most fun levels in a video game.) So, despite the reported performance issues, is the game any good? Is the story engaging for you? Have you dabbled in the multiplayer? What was that like?
We’ve also put another poll for PC performance, just to see how prevalent the issue is across our community. Among our own staff we’ve had mixed results, with one PC working flawlessly, and the other encountering major problems, so we want to see just how much the pendulum swings one way or the other.
So what do you think? How are you finding Deathloop so far? Are you enjoying the gameplay and story? What is PC performance like for you? And have you played many Arkane games before or is this your first one? Let’s debate!
