Star Wars game by Quantic Dream is reportedly more action-focused than their previous titles

A recent rumor has gone round saying that the interactive story-driven developer Quantic Dream is currently developing a new Star Wars game. However, a new report now suggests it will also be much more action-focused than the studio’s previous titles, and it has apparently been in development for a while already.

According to a new report, Quantic Dream has been working on a Star Wars project for the past 18 months. It also suggests the new game will be much more action-focused with a greater emphasis on exploration than the studio’s previous games like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls.

That means less quick-time-events that we’ve grown used to from Quantic Dream, which honestly starts to sound a lot like the upcoming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which also blends action and story-driven choices. There’s even mentions of an open world as well as multiplayer elements the report says, which would be a far cry from anything QD has done before.

Either way, we won’t know anything concrete until Quantic Dream announces the game officially, but so far it sounds like the studio wants to diverge away from their usual formula, but still focus on narrative-driven storytelling that they are known for. With Disney’s newly revived Lucasfilm Games, a Star Wars project would certainly be an interesting transition.

What do you think? Are you excited for a Star Wars game from Quantic Dream? How do you feel about it reportedly being more action-focused? And what kind of multiplayer elements could there be? Let us know your thoughts!

Are you interested in a more action-focused game from Quantic Dream?

Nooo, don't lock a good story behind those gameplayless video "games"... Sorry, but I can't play them, they are just so boring and empty, But I will watch them on youtube. On the other hand if they make an action-y game or in general a game with mechanics rather than systems, then sure.

i am suprised about how much people want Quantic Dream to make action focused game instead of their regular style like there is not enouth developers who do exactlly that

I personally loved Detroit: Become Human on PC.

Except the huge amount of blurryness in the background.

Otherwise a good game with a good story.

Tastes vary ;

For a Star Wars game more action is needed not only story.

Wishing for a good story also btw.

Same here, Absolutely loved it. Their best work so far.

And this doesn't get mentioned enough but the graphics are bonkers good even by today's standards but that could be because I played it on the PC.

Yeah, I just fired up Detroit to test on my 3090 (last time I played was on a 2080Ti) and I had to hold one button, then swipe, click and hold my mouse and then press E to initiate an animation to cut Kara's hair. Detroit has many unnecessary interactions which would have been better as just either a continuation of a cutscene or just outright omitted...

Yeah, but if they omit that than what gameplay is left in a David Cage game? At that point you're just watching a terribly written interactive movie. Now, honestly, I personally wouldn't mind it as it's pointless busywork in between me laughing at the terrible writing but some people seem to enjoy torturing themselves with it.
