A recent rumor has gone round saying that the interactive story-driven developer Quantic Dream is currently developing a new Star Wars game. However, a new report now suggests it will also be much more action-focused than the studio’s previous titles, and it has apparently been in development for a while already.
According to a new report, Quantic Dream has been working on a Star Wars project for the past 18 months. It also suggests the new game will be much more action-focused with a greater emphasis on exploration than the studio’s previous games like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls.
That means less quick-time-events that we’ve grown used to from Quantic Dream, which honestly starts to sound a lot like the upcoming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which also blends action and story-driven choices. There’s even mentions of an open world as well as multiplayer elements the report says, which would be a far cry from anything QD has done before.
Either way, we won’t know anything concrete until Quantic Dream announces the game officially, but so far it sounds like the studio wants to diverge away from their usual formula, but still focus on narrative-driven storytelling that they are known for. With Disney’s newly revived Lucasfilm Games, a Star Wars project would certainly be an interesting transition.
What do you think? Are you excited for a Star Wars game from Quantic Dream? How do you feel about it reportedly being more action-focused? And what kind of multiplayer elements could there be? Let us know your thoughts!
