RX 6600 non-XT rumored specs leaked online, reportedly launches October 13th

AMD’s RX 6000 series of graphics cards has been desperate for some more non-XT GPUs for mainstream/budget gamers. We’ve heard a lot of rumors regarding an RX 6600 non-XT model for a while now, but the latest leak seems to be more credible, and even includes some supposed specs of the rumored GPU.

According to the report, the RX 6600 non-XT will launch sometime around October 13th, as this is apparently when review embargoes are lifted, which is usually accompanied by a product launch soon after. No price has been revealed unfortunately, but it will need to remain competitive against Nvidia’s RTX 3060 which is priced at $329.

Obviously we’ll be unlikely to see the GPU at MSRP anyway, not only because of inflated prices, but because AMD is apparently not preparing a reference card launch, just like what they did with the RX 6600 XT, so you’ll have to settle with a custom AIB design. Hopefully though, the launch could lead to more GPUs available and not as badly inflated prices.

As for the specs, the RX 6600 non-XT seems to have the features of the RX 6600 XT, but with 4 fewer Compute Units. Clock speeds and TDP have not been revealed yet, but you can expect the non-XT version to have slightly reduced clock speeds and TDP as was the same with the RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 non-XT.

If the RX 6600 really is launching around October 13th, then we’ll likely hear something official very soon. In terms of pricing we’re hoping for around $299 to stay competitive against Nvidia, but we could also see the same pricing as the RTX 3060 at $329. Either way, we might only need to wait a few weeks to find out.

What do you think? Are you interested in an RX 6600 non-XT? How do you feel about the specs? And what price do you think it should be? Let us know your thoughts!

What it should be is likely up to 250USD, same as 6600XT should have been up to 300USD. What it will likely be is 330USD graphic card, since I don't think AMD will price it a lot below RX5700, same as with 6600XT, which was little below RX5700XT. And it likely will be too expensive for what it is compared to MSRP of 3060... but lest face it, based on quick Google search, 3060 is above 700USD card as is, so any overpriced MSRP AMD can give it will look like great deal compared, because it already is overpriced and it will inflate less, provided AMD repeats what they did with 6600XT and actually has stock for a little while. Just like 6600XT that had bad MSRP, but was great deal, because in the end, it was at least 100USD cheaper than 3060 in real market. So it is not like MSRP will matter. In the end, it just needs to get inflated less than nVidia cards and it will be good deal in current market. Which is kind of sad, because otherwise it should be bad deal. Nevertheless, since things don't look like they are improving anytime soon, if you need it, I guess you will just have to get what rips you off the least.

This GPU should cost 230-240$ MSRP, while the RX 6600XT should cost 280-290$ MSRP, but since the market is screwed and they know that they won't stay at MSRP anyway, they are just going for outrageous prices.

Also it would be very nice if GD makes it so that you can change your vote until the vote pole is active. I've been wanting this for years.

What parallel-dimension people voted lesser than $299? I would ure like to go there where the grass is green and the GPUs are priced fairly.

Also the headline for the article should have continued, "with an absurd under-performing dollar-value price tag."
