If you bought an MSI Coreliquid CPU cooler, then you might be eligible for a free mounting upgrade kit for the upcoming Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake desktop CPUs, which use the LGA 1700 socket. However, this promotion has seemingly leaked the official launch date for Intel’s next-gen processors.
Intel confirmed that Alder Lake CPUs will be launching at the end of the year, and a previous rumor pinned a November 19th launch date. MSI’s current promotion on a free mounting upgrade kit for their Coreliquid CPU cooler starts on November 4th, and according to some sources, is the official release date for Intel Alder Lake processors.
The sources mentioned that November 4th is the sales and review embargo for Alder Lake. Additionally, pre-orders for Alder Lake will be going live on October 27th with an official announcement alongside it at the Intel Innovation event. However, there is no mention of when compatible motherboards will launch as well. It’s possible that compatible motherboards will launch on the same day as Alder Lake or go on sale a short while sooner.
Either way, we know of at least 3 CPU models which will be launching on November 4th: the Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K, and the Core i5-12600K. The KF-series of processors without integrated graphics will also reportedly launch on the same day.
Hopefully these dates are true, which is more than likely at this point. Which means we should be getting official pricing and specs for Intel Alder Lake on October 27th. It also means we should get an idea of how well these CPUs will perform, which is especially exciting after some single core and multi-core benchmarks for the Core i9-12900K have been leaked this week.
What do you think? Are you excited for Intel Alder Lake? Are you looking to upgrade your CPU this generation? Or will you wait a bit after launch to see how others fare? Let us know!
