After a long wait of, well… waiting, we finally have a release for the new Monster Hunter game on PC. Having been a Switch exclusive for most of the year, we knew a PC release was eventually coming, but exactly when was unknown and whether it would include any improvements specifically for PC players…

Thankfully, Capcom has curbed some of those woes, as Monster Hunter Rise officially launches for PC via Steam on January 12th 2022. This will also include all content released thus far on the Switch version, as well as the usual 4K visual improvements, ultrawide screen support, a wealth of graphics options, keyboard and mouse support, and even voice chat.

So with that in mind, let's take a look at the official Monster Hunter Rise PC system requirements...

Monster Hunter Rise minimum system requirements - 1080p / 30fps / Low settings

Monster Hunter Rise recommended requirements - 1080p / 30fps / Average settings

In order to run Monster Hunter Rise on Average graphics settings at 1080p your PC will need at least a GTX 1060 or RX 570 graphics card paired with either a Core i5-4460 or FX-8300 processor. You will also need 8GB of RAM, which will help achieve 30fps performance.

Looking at the Monster Hunter Rise minimum system requirements you will need at least a GT 1030 or RX 550 GPU along with a Core i3-4130 or FX-6100 CPU and 8GB of system memory. This setup will then deliver 30fps performance on Low graphics settings at 1080p resolution.

Overall, looking at the specs above, the Monster Hunter Rise recommended specs will need around a 5 year old PC in order to run smoothly.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Monster Hunter Rise System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarks and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Monster Hunter Rise GPU benchmark chart and we also have a Monster Hunter Rise Frames Per Second system performance chart for you to check.

What the hell is wrong with new requirement publications?! 30 fps low, 30fps medium, 30 fps 4K settings... 2021 the year of 30 fps new standard for requirements. Why the regression?!

To be fair the recommended have always been like a 1060 so it is not surprising that they are asking for a 5 year old 1060 for 1080p 30 fps, that gpu isnt that good at full hd anymore, i learned this with the medium, ms flight sim and cyberpunk 2077 because i used to play on a 1060 6gb OC and now it is resting on a shelf.

Im hoping my 8gb 3070 will be enough for ultra textures, i have found a few games that i have to turn down the textures settings to high, i should not have listened to the people saying me to buy a 3070 and that the 8gb vram wont be an issue, even at 2k im notticing 8gb vram is not enough.

Oh, man, sorry to hear that. One of the reasons why I couldn't go with a 3080Ti or a 3080 is because of the memory - I didn't feel comfortable with my work and games fitting on such small memory, considering 1080Tis were 11GB already...

That being said - Rise looks to be somewhere between MH Generations Ultimate (Switch) and MH World - probably closer to MHGU, I'd say - so you shouldn't have problems maxing this game out, IMO, unless they make the textures stupidly overkill for some reason.

Yeah, well im thinking of selling my 3070 for the price i paid it for and going back to my 1060 for a few months after that get a 3080ti/3090 when prices goes close to MSRP, maybe i can get a 3090 for close to $1500 bucks or just wait for next gen 4070/4080 if is thas 12/16/20 gb vram.

Isn't it crazy that 8gb isn't enough for games these days. I remember when 8gb on my Rx580 was overkill...

Wow those are way higher than I thought they'd be.. 1080p 30fps on average settings requiring a gtx 1060 for a Switch Port is kinda nuts. Also I hope there's no 60 fps cap, while these requirements make me doubt that it'll run extremely well, I could still see good systems being able to easily run the game at 144+ fps.

I can see this title being way less demanding than World (as it's much closer to MHGU in terms of graphics), so I doubt anyone will be having major issues with it even on the lower-end PCs.

Needing a 1060 for medium settings 1080p 30 fps seems pretty high though

Either crap optimization, or just happened that the 1060 was the oldest GPU they had laying around to test with...

no chance for GTX 700 Series?

Easily. GTX 7xx series is stronger than the GT 1xxx series. You can use the compare tools on this site if you wanted to check. I imagine medium at worst. It's not a very demanding game.

I know, but the game requires DX12 as minimum you see? for example Halo Infinite doesn't work on GTX 700 series

Really? I thought that DX11 compatible cards would have been compatible with DX12 as it's not a hardware-dependent version like the previous ones were.

i dont think 700 series will have problems starting the game, but getting playable framerates will definately be a challenge, i think it is the 500 series and below that wont even start the game because of dx features

you don't understand, if the game requires DX12 only (DX12 feature level 12) the game won't start even if you have GTX 780
