No matter what you think of the latest Far Cry game, one thing that most gamers can agree on is the terrible decision for a low Field of View whenever you’re driving a car, riding a horse, flying a plane, or even casting a fishing rod. Thankfully a proper fix is here, and it’s super easy to install if you’re finding the low FOV an annoyance.
Despite only being out for about a week now, some mods are popping up for Far Cry 6 already. Perhaps the most significant of the bunch is the FOV Fixer mod by AdaChanDesu. The fix is actually pretty easy to do yourself, but you’ll need a HEX editor to manually edit one of the game’s files. This mod makes the process even easier, by just dropping a file in the required folder.
No matter what FOV you set the game to in Far Cry 6, whenever you enter a vehicle like a car or ride a horse, the game automatically changes to an uncomfortably low 51 FOV. This mod doesn’t increase the FOV to a certain value, but instead matches the player’s set FOV in the game’s options.
There are two things to note with this mod however: you have to download the correct file depending on whether you bought the game or are using Ubisoft+, and then place the file in the corresponding version of your game (instructions on the mod’s page are pretty easy to follow). Additionally, there’s a visual bug with the fishing line thanks to the FOV fix, but it has no impact on actual gameplay.
What do you think? Have you been having issues with the FOV in Far Cry 6? Will you be downloading the FOV Fixer mod? Have you already downloaded and used it? Did it help much? Let us know!
