Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG is highly anticipated, and this year we finally got an official release date: November 11th 2022. That’s still pretty far away, and we have yet to see any actual gameplay. But the folks at Bethesda have slowly been teasing us with new info, and the latest dev diary reveals more about its world and factions.

Starfield takes place in what's known as the “Settled Systems”, a system of planets around 50 light-years away from our own Milky Way. 20 years before the game starts there was a massive war between the game’s two major factions: the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. The two factions now live in an “uneasy peace”, but they won’t be the only factions you come across…

The video also reveals more of your role in the game. As a new member of the Constellation organization - whose goal is to “uncover the mysteries of the galaxy” - your mission is to “explore the deepest regions of the settled systems” where you’ll undoubtedly come across many secrets, treasure, and characters along your journey.

What do you think? Are you excited for Starfield? When do you think we’ll see some actual gameplay? And will this be a demanding game? Let us know your thoughts!

Do you think Starfield will be a demanding game?

That doesn’t make sense, 50 light years away is too short of a distance to be away from our galaxy. In fact, the Milky Way itself is around 100000 light years wide.

That quote doesn't even appear in the video

"In a relatively small pocket of the milky way in an area that extends outwards from our solar system for approximately 50 light years"

It's not 50 light years away from our milky way, it's in our milky way, 50 light years away from our solar system...
