It’s rare that specific movie titles get specific video game adaptations these days, as most of them are flipped the other way round (a game adapted into a movie). Nevertheless, the hit Horror franchise A Quiet Place is getting an official Single Player Horror game, and it’s coming in 2022.
Published by Saber Interactive and developed by iLLOGIKA - a studio in Montreal with many veterans from Ubisoft who worked on the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises - A Quiet Place will be a new story set in the same universe, and “captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous.”
(There’s no trailer yet for the game, so here’s the trailer for the original film to see what we might expect from it):
“The A Quiet Place video game will let fans experience the tension of the films with a level of immersion they’ve never felt before,” said Herve Sliwa iLLOGIKA’s Creative Director. “We’re excited to work with EP1T0ME and to team up with Saber Interactive to share this unique vision of hope and horror with players everywhere in the future.”
“The amazing success of the A Quiet Place movies makes it clear audiences are hungry for more adventures in this universe, and iLLOGIKA is creating their own truly engaging experience that lives up to the name of this beloved property,” Todd Hollenshead said, Saber Interactive’s Head of Publishing. “We are proud to say that A Quiet Place is the first game we will be releasing by an external studio from the growing Saber publishing label.”
No other information about the title has been revealed yet, like which platforms it will release on or what kind of gameplay we can expect (some sort of microphone recognition would be very amusing to say the least). But the developers said to expect more information later this year.
