The time has finally come and the highly anticipated remasters of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy have been out for a few days now, gifting us with new and improved versions of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. Although many were excited for the launch, the general response has been, well… quite mixed.
So of course we wanted to hear from all of you what your thoughts are on Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, and whether in the end the GTA Trilogy remasters are really worth it. So let us know your thoughts on them, whether you like the new graphics and improved quality of life features, or if they’re not worth the full $60 price.
After looking around online, it seems that many are praising the graphical improvements of the environments and updated controls. However, a point of tension particularly still remains on the character models, which many still think are a little too ‘cartoony’ and stand out like a sore thumb from the rest of the remaster, something many of you voiced in our previous Up For Debate about whether the GTA Remastered Trilogy graphics are actually good or bad?
Having played a little of them already, personally we have to say that it seems like the general consensus is right. The improved textures, draw distance, and especially the controls are all very welcome. But they are still the same games as before, and as such if you didn’t enjoy them before then you’ll certainly not enjoy them now.
But what do you think? Are you enjoying the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Editions? What do you like most about them? What do you dislike? And do you think they are overall worth it? Or would you prefer to just play the original versions? Let’s debate!
